When was the last time you did this?
I took a well-needed 24-hour break from social media over the weekend, and spent time with friends and family. Enjoying preparing dinners together. Playing cards. Re-watching A Start is Born with my best friend, who would have cried more if he were alone. So what I noticed was not the absence of noise, but the return of something quieter underneath it. And how easy it was to let go of my phone for one day, and how that turned into a second day while only picking it up to make plans. It There is a different quality to attention when it is not being pulled in multiple directions. Not forced, not searching, just present. And from that place, something begins to open again. If writing has felt distant or inconsistent, it is often not because anything has gone wrong, but because the conditions have been crowded. The words are still there. They are simply waiting for space, for steadiness, and for a different kind of attention. Writing is not something we chase. It is something we return to. And sometimes that return begins by stepping away, even briefly, and allowing the signal to come back into focus. When was the last time you went "off-grid?" If this resonates, join us on Wednesday for some quiet time writing in our Sacred Writing Session.

Is there a sacred reading session where we can share a piece of writing we have written?
Wordsmithing with Ankhara
What a brilliant and fun call with @Ankhara Akeru, as we played with words. I received such wonderful insights from Ankhara's perspective.. (I was going to use the word "lessons," but now that has a different resonance for me.) Have a listen and you'll understand. No spoiler alerts. We'd love to know your thoughts.

It's About Damn Time
I've been talking about starting a podcast for three years. I had a talk show back in 2014-2015 and did 50 shows. Twenty are still live under Conscious Business Conversations over on Soundcloud. It was a thing. And now it's back. More conscious than ever. Isn't it true that we underestimate what we can do in a decade. - Ended a talk show called Conscious Business Conversations ten years ago. - Founded SourceCode Publishing in 2018. - Published 12 books (and helped 25 authors get published) with two WIP to be published soon. - Co-led a Heart-centred writing retreat in Bali in 2019. (Who'd love that again?) - Studied three levels of Numerology in 2020. - Embodied my gift to open the Language Portal for creators. - Did a Soul Talk multiple times at the Women's Spirit Festival. - Reimagined what the writing process is and created The Language Portal Model. - Launched multiple courses and events. The latest, Write From Source, is available in the VIP tier. Now The Language Portal Podcast has launched and the starting the line-up is: @Ankhara Akeru tomorrow (April 3) at 11:00 am PT @Rena Nicole Thursday, April 9 @ 1:00 PM PT @Elizabeth O'Carroll April 14 at 7:30 PM PT @Jennifer Fitzpatrick TBA @Lisa Black TBA @Katinka van Kan TBA We over estimate what we can do in one year but underestimate what we can do in ten years. What are your top ten things that you've achieved in the last ten years? Share at least one in the comments below!

@Pamela Lynch this was a little longer than a decade ago, but I still did have a TV show on public-access television. (I also wouldnโ€™t mind if you came out to this retreat center and did a writing retreatโ€ฆalthough I donโ€™t know if they are still open. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Itโ€™s an incredible space.
Storytelling Reading with Rena Nicole
Unfiltered. Unedited. I am delighted to share @Rena Nicole with you as she reveals her magic. Rena Nicole started today's session by asking about my biggest challenge. Iโ€™m brilliantly aware of it and have been here before. Being open and vulnerable is the only pathway I know that leads to next-level transformation. When the teacher arrives, I accept the challenge, knowing the benefits reach beyond just me to anyone who connects with our exchange. Most impressive was witnessing Rena Nicoleโ€™s gift as she reflected on my heroโ€™s journey story. What was truly miraculous was that she did it in my voice, using my language with such clarity. It felt like an embodiment, a merging of my future self into the now moment. If you want to understand what's holding you back from fully living your intentional life, skip to 22:22. Join us for a breath and listen as Rena Nicole shares her storytelling readingโ€”this is where the transformation begins. Please help me celebrate Rena Nicole by listening in at 22:22 minutes to capture her gift and visit her Skool community, Our Peaceful Liberation

Origin of Language
Where does the word language come from? At last weekโ€™s Hypno Hacking event with @James Bansbach, Arthorย Pendragon asked an intriguing question: โ€œHow is the word language broken down? What is the meaning of language?โ€ Arthor and I agreed to dive into its origins. It became a profoundly rich conversation. The word language entered English in the late 13th century from Old French langage, meaning speech, expression, and a people or shared identity. It traces back further to the Latin lingua, meaning โ€œtongueโ€ and โ€œspeech,โ€ and ultimately to a Proto-Indo-European root connected to the physical tongue as the source of sound. Ankharaย Akeru nailed this with his understanding of the origin of the word language, and then quickly researched it to mean: ๐ŸŒŸ Breath + Sound ๐ŸŒŸ Vibration + Meaning ๐ŸŒŸ Identity + Culture ๐ŸŒŸ It is the shaping of reality through sound. And as James draws on his experience as a dancer and dance instructor, language is conveyed through the heartbeat and rhythm that speaks without words. I love that James then went deep into how language, in its origin, is an embodiment. Alessandraย Turati shared, from the perspective of someone who speaks five languages, how she notices the shortcomings of language in communicating reality, while, conversely, having a keen awareness of what one gains when they are multilingual. This was such a fascinating conversation. To listen to the entire conversation, the replay is available in Jamesโ€™ LEARN HYPNOSIS community. ๐Ÿ’ซ Continued Etymology Study ๐Ÿ’ซ Now, back to the etymology of the word 'language' and how it informs The Language Portal. Even the structure of the word reflects its evolution. The โ€œuโ€ in language was introduced through Anglo-French spelling conventions between the 12th and 13th centuries. It was never pronounced, and still isnโ€™t. It remains present in the spelling but is silent.

@Rebecca B yours is actually the same conclusion I came to. ๐Ÿ˜Š When my mom named me, her intention was for me to named for the Greek goddess of peace, Irene. My name also means to sing a joyful song. I even wrote a song about my name https://suno.com/s/Z2FHy5D4mZaooGzp
