Regrets...
Our fabulous member @Stephanie Pick
brought something to my attention yesterday. Something that I have spoken about many times, but not as eloquently as this period in a book by Bronnie Ware, comes some cold facts about regrets. It's funny how life gets away from us, and sometimes we don't notice until that last moment when we have so many regrets.
Bronnie wrote about the five regrets of the dying. I'm sure everybody sees a little bit of this, some are more profound than others. When it comes down to it, it's about love and relationships. Financial stability, wealth, the ability to help those around us. These are all wonderful things. But I think it's rare for someone to say, "I wish I had more money." If we're surrounded by love, we have beautiful relationships; the money just gets less important.
Take a look at this list and see what resonates with you. Number five is interesting... We all think we're happy, but if we look inwardly, are we really? Let's allow happiness! Let's embrace friends and family and relationships. Let's try not to work quite so hard.
1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
