Enneagram Core Motivations
This was how I was introduced to the inner work. I wanted to start bringing it here to share with you all. I even made a NotebookLM video to introduce it. How about that? My favorite part is that the enneagram is not even pictured in the video, yeah me! The diagram is attached below for reference. I could create a 40 hour class on this topic so take this super lightly and let's start the conversation here. I think this work of awareness building is the first step before any inner work. It gives us a common language to work with and patterns that we can see in our lives. Please hold this very lightly and try not to grasp too hard to it. Another disclaimer is to let others type themselves. It is their work to do so please don't tell someone that they are a particular type. The Enneagram is a map of how we move through life. The first shape is a circle. That represents wholeness. The part of you that isnโt stuck, isnโt reacting, isnโt trying to become anything. It is already here. You are already here and complete. The first breakdown is the triangle from 3-6-9. This represents the differentiation of heart centered, head centered, or body centered. More on this in the next post I create. That points to something deeper. The way we get caught in loops, and how awareness begins to open us back up. Within the circle are nine points. Each center has three types. Each point is a different way of seeing the world, a different pattern of thinking (head), feeling(heart), and acting(body) that we tend to default to under pressure. This isnโt about putting yourself in a box. Itโs about seeing the box youโre already in. Your type might have been most noticible in your 20s and may have softened as you developed over time. And once you can see it clearly, something starts to shift. Curiousโฆ as you listen to this, what do you notice about your own patterns?
