1% better each day
Nothing around energy really changes overnight. At least that hasn’t been my experience. What I’m starting to see more clearly is that it’s tied to daily habits… The small things you do consistently. Sleep timing. Hydration. How you fuel. How you recover. Not one big change — but a lot of small ones stacking. I just picked up Atomic Habits, and it reinforced something simple: 👉 1% better each day adds up. Curious… What are a few daily habits you have right now that you feel are actually helping your energy?

For me, what made a bigger difference wasn’t just consistency… it was aligning my sleep with my circadian rhythm.

I’ve also learned the hard way that trying to build too many habits at once backfires. I’d rather lock in one habit into my daily system than try to change everything and end up dropping all of it. Starting today, I’m adding one: daily reading. What’s interesting is I’ve actually seen this impact my energy. When I read something engaging, my Garmin “body battery” goes up. That was surprising — getting an energy boost not from sleep, but from reading.
Energy first
Energy first. Everything else follows. When your energy is off: Your work suffers. Your business slows down. Your patience at home drops. Your relationships feel heavier. Your thinking isn’t as sharp. Most people try to fix everything else first. But it usually starts here.

I didn’t fully realize how much this affected everything until my energy dropped.

It’s not just physical… it shows up in how you think, work, and interact with people.
What actually started to change things
For me, things didn’t start shifting until I changed my approach. In June of 2025, I did a genetic test… And in July of 2025, when I reviewed it with a doctor, it completely changed how I looked at: - nutrition - supplementation - recovery I wasn’t trying to lose weight. I was trying to figure out what my body actually needed. And once I started making changes based on that… things started to shift. Energy became more stable. Afternoon crashes weren’t as intense. Recovery felt different. Nothing extreme overnight. But clearly moving in the right direction. Curious — what’s something you’ve tried that actually made a real difference?

For me, the biggest shift was realizing I was guessing before that.

Once I started working with my body instead of just trying harder, everything felt different.
Doctors told me nothing was wrong
After one of triathons (Escape from Alcatraz, June 2025) my energy completely crashed. Not just tired… I’m talking about sleeping 10–11 hours a day and still not feeling right. So I did what most people would do. I went to see multiple doctors trying to figure it out. Ran tests. Looked into everything. And everything kept coming back the same… “Nothing’s wrong.” That didn’t sit right with me. Because I knew how I felt. Looking back, that was a turning point. Not because I got answers… But because I realized I needed to start looking at things differently. Has anyone else ever been told everything is “fine” when it clearly didn’t feel that way?

That was probably the most frustrating part — being told everything is normal when it doesn’t feel normal.

At that point I started questioning whether I was even asking the right questions.
Most men don’t have low energy
For a long time I thought I just didn’t have the same energy I used to. So I did what most guys do… Push through it. No pain, no gain. Ignore it. More coffee! And it worked… until it didn’t. Looking back now, I don’t think I had “low energy.” I think I was just out of sync with how my body actually works. Everything looked fine on the surface. Training, work, routine… But something underneath wasn’t adding up. Have you ever felt this way? What was your approach to getting it fixed?

For me it wasn’t obvious at first. It just slowly became normal to feel off. We start explaining it as "aging".

It’s strange how you can operate like that for a long time and not question it.
