SOTD - Gentleman Givenchy edt
Another Rescented acquisition that came in yesterday. I figured I'd try out a Gentleman for the warmer weather so I grabbed the EDT and tried it out last night and will give it a full wear today. The opening is fruity with that pear note out in front which gives it a different feel than others out there. After a while the pear note tones back and the iris and vanilla move in. A slight powdery iris that mixes with the rest of the notes and is never in the forefront like the Privee. Just a slight touch of leather in the background. Best way to describe this is a mass appealing, youthful opening that dries down into a little more old school vibe. Projection on this is moderate but the longevity is a little underwhelming. Dries to a skin scent after a few hours. As with the majority of edt's out there, I'm going to overspray this. All in all, a really pleasant, easy reach fragrance that I'm glad I picked up. (and for the price I got it for - $25 for a 2oz that was 90% full!)

A little bit chilly today so I'm trying to get my cooler weather fragrances their last sprays of the season. I'm going with this inspiration of Dior Homme parfum. The leather and iris makes for a warming, cozy vibe that lasts most of the day. Great bang for the buck.

I'll probably get a decant of this later in the year when the cooler weather returns. I have to try the iris in this.
New Scent Score
Just received about a dozen new scents from Micro Perfumes. All are blind buys on my wish list. This is the first time I’ve disciplined myself to buy the sample rather than the whole bottle. First review tomorrow is Virgin Island Water by Creed. Here’s to smelling good 👍

I also found out if you go through the other decant sites you can get a 5ml with just the vial you can save a few bucks. MP only offers the 5ml in the travel sprayers.
SOTD - Afnan Turathi Blue
Giving my decant of Afnan Turathi Blue a shot today. Got a quick first impression of it when I received it a few weeks ago and didn't know how I felt about this clone of Bvlgari Tygar (which I haven't gotten my nose on so I can't compare). This is a citrusy, musky frag, a blue freshie for sure but the one thing I can't shake with this one is the 'funkiness' of the citrus that I get. I've heard descriptions of 'effervesence' or a 'rindy' aspect to the citrus but to me it just smells funky or 'off'. The performance is there, I'll give it that. I'll wait a while on the dry down but it seems this one is not for me. It might not be the scent of the whole day.
