Even $onnet isn't an option for me running Openclaw
I was using my max plan like every one else. i started using API last night to get my openclaw straightened out. I put my agents on sonnnet while I tested some agent specific cheaper API models. My agents repackaged exactly 1 short from long form video, posted it on accounts. I was very sensitive to not doing anything that was token wasteful. Although getting openclaw config straightened out took a bit of time. In less than 12 hours, which included me sleeping and no cron jobs, I spent $25 of my "credits" from anthropic. that puts me at $30 a day or 900 a month. So that didn't exactly work out. Im testing the gemni flash and will likely test that GLM model. If that doesn't work, i guess I try the OpenAI 200 plan. your results may vary

got it working finally, seems good overall so far. while doing some system checks early I get an output in Chinese language when asking for an update on a subagent test, so the name and test that we performed on it was unreadable. Anyone getting a little chinese mix in their output also?

Quick fix for everyone trying it out is to update your soul.md for English-only output, or whatever langauge you prefer.
Run Gemma 4 Local, F Claude for your Agent?
Claude closed access to 3rd Party harnesses. Well Gemma 4 might be your solution, it looks like mine. Thoughts?

Happy EASTER Weekend
We are just 21 days in since starting this journey in the community. But the vision has not changed. 202 members joined all with a similar vision. How can we use AI to grow as people, grow our businesses, and to provide value back into the economy. The focus of the community has always been us growing together, sharing ideas, and helping us learn new skills in this AI age. I will keep providing as much value as I can, adding more to the course material and resources pages. Bringing on new coaches to teach and show off validated openclaw use cases. But I also appreciate your feedback. If you have anything you would like to see in the future, please post under here. Do you want more workshops? Different types of workshops? What would you like to see in the course material? Just wanted to show my appreciation and say I'm so thankful for everyone here. You're in the right spot if you want to learn how to use AI. It's not too late. It's just the right time! UPDATE: many requests for a beginner's basic OpenCLaw class, like getting OpenCLaw installed, beginner basics, OpenCLaw principles. @Bret Jutras is going to be doing another class going forward in addition to what we have already. It's basically going to be the very basics of how to get OpenCLaw installed, what models to choose, and how to get it to work without breaking. Appreciate you all so much and have a blessed Easter weekend.

Detailed classes for every part of setup and advanced steps like 1. .md file setup and management 2. Sub-agent setup and management 3. Memory setup and management 4. Skills setup and management 5 . Local model classes to get into it or fine tune & test current setups 6. Marketing our services and app 7. etc... there are so many but these ar few off the top of the head.
I found the opus/sonnet replacement for openclaw 🫨
I've been testing all day with new models to be able to save some money. I think we're all trying to do that. Tried Kimi K 2.5 Tried GPT 5.4. Tried Minimax 2.7 then i tried GLM 5.1(PRO) And my goal is to not use it for coding but just as the execution and coordination agent that I talk back and forth with. My main agent. All the other models seemed very generic, with no personality, and that bothered me. But I finally found something today in GLM 5.1 and it's hard to even tell the difference between Sonnet and GLM 5.1. So if you're on a budget and you're looking for a model that doesn't hallucinate and go crazy and forget who you are and break things, I say give GLM 5.1 a try as your main agent. I paid for the $30/month plan, which has a 210,000 context token window. It performs very well for my use case. again im not using it for coding. just coordination/execution. hope this helps

@Paul Ljucovic I know I want a local model setup for fun, but I need a real use case to spend the money and time on it. Models are shrinking so fast not sure what is worth it to get into. Might not need anything different than current setup in the next 2 years or so to run current Opus 4.6 models on our home desktops.

@Paul Ljucovic im excited and jealous for you. Let me know that use case that justifies the costs, that it seems useful for years, and im jumping in too.
New Model setup?
Claude got stopped so now what? I saw the YouTube of getting back to GPT5 but how do I get my model to switch without making this a financial monster?

I did some tinkering. I was aiming to force the Opus-4-6 via the new CLI commands and was only able to get sonnet-4-6 to work with my Max plan, not Opus-4-6. I have no API key and have not bought any credits, and my account shows no usage at all (odd), but I have used it aggressively so not sure how I can use sonnet still it seems for free? It will not let me switch over with the same account and use Opus-4-6. That seems blocked altogether without credits/api setup. I dont know how I am using sonnet but I am. I have shared the commands and steps below I used and let me know if you try it out and what you figure out is going on. ANTHROPIC LOGIN INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBSCRIPTION/MAX PLANS: **Windows Powershell Commands*** 1. Log into your Anthropic account on the device with openclaw that your Max or other subscription plan was on. 2. Tell your agent or run this command in terminal: openclaw models auth login --provider anthropic --method cli --set-default 3. Tell your agent or run this command in terminal: openclaw models set claude-cli/claude-opus-4-6 4. Tell your agent or run this command in terminal: claude auth status - run this command to see if you notice your email is noted as the account it is using for Antrhopic now. If so, your connected. 5. If using Telegram you can type /models and it will let you choose the new Opus-4-6 model. 6. Type /new in Telegram and it should show - "New session started · model: claude-cli/claude-opus-4-6". 7. Even though that shows the default is claude-opus-4-6, when I check it is actually on sonnet-4-6 and seems to be working well with no problems. Im not sure how to explain it. I am interested if you have the same situation if you try it and if it works, getting sonnet still is helpful and what you mentioned you needed.

Im currently using Sonnet on the Anthropic Max Plan somehow and GPT 5.4 Pro plan on my sub agents where needed. If things go awry I will aim to test out GLM 5.1 also. I had briefly tested it when it first came out but did not spend enough time fully finding out how good it might be. Great find Beau.
