Hey Brand & Launch Loft — Allow me to reintroduce myself 👋🏾
I'm Charlie, (This is going to be a long one) I've been a little quiet in here and I realized something — a lot of you joined this community without really knowing WHO is on the other side of it. So today I'm changing that. I'm a serial entrepreneur, a relationship builder, and honestly? Business is just in my DNA. No matter what chapter of my life I'm in, it always comes back to building something. Let me give you the quick version of how I got here — because I think my journey might feel familiar to some of you. I didn't take a straight path. At all. I started college with plans to go into nursing, I soon realized it wasn't my calling, and life had other plans. I ended up finishing with my Bachelor's in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing, which honestly makes so much more sense for who I am. After school I went into banking; spent a couple of years at Bank of America learning how real money moves. But I kept feeling that pull toward something more creative, more mine. So I did what made total sense to nobody but me...I enrolled in Aveda Institute and got my cosmetology license. 😂 And I'd do it again. I started working at a blowout and spray tan bar called Gorgeous Glo. I loved it, but the entrepreneur in me couldn't sit still. I invested in my own spray tan machine, my boss found out, and I was let go. I will never forget what she said to me in that moment. In so many words, she told me I'd be fine. And she was right. 💛 It's so easy to stay comfortable. It's scary stepping out on your own. But sometimes the push you need comes from the most unexpected places. From there, I built. And built. And built again. - I opened a brick and mortar spray tan and lash studio with a dear friend — and it was successful. We made the decision to close due to life changes, and that's okay. Not every ending is a failure. - I grew a lash supply business that sold nationwide 🌍 - I spent 10 amazing years at another salon before deciding again to step back out on my own - Today I'm a hair stylist and run a local hair extension business, with extensions available right in the salon. - And somewhere in between all of that, I started selling diamonds and custom jewelry; straight from my hair chair, through relationships and conversations. Which leads me to something I really want to talk about with this community...
