Mon. 2 Samuel 6 Study notes and reflection
I actually read this chapter last week and what really stood out to me was (verse 23) the fact that Michal was the daughter of Saul. She despised David’s’ joy for the Lord and if you notice Saul also has a very hardened heart towards the Lord as well. There was rebellion against God in their bloodline and she was perpetuating generational iniquity. I wonder if the Lord shut up her womb so that iniquity of rebellion wouldn’t continue in the way that it was. This is a huge reminder to really know who you end up marrying or even pray for a spouse who doesn’t have a bloodline of rebellion or a hardened heart towards God, God’s people, and the things of God. Where have I become casual with what God calls holy? My body- sometimes I’m so tired from being on my feet for all of my shift at work that I have been putting off going to the gym consistently. I understand my body is a temple for the Holy Spirit and needs to be properly cared for and I feel guilty at times for casually ignoring personal fitness. Prayer- I talk to God all day and prayer journal but I lack discipline in praying in tongues and worshiping intimately in the secret place. I want to be better in this area. My ministry- sometimes I feel like I treat the ministry God has given me as a hobby more than a calling and a true job he has gifted me with in his kingdom. I want to show up for the work he has called me to just like any other secular job. I just wanted to share this with you ladies and hope to see your comments on your Bible study notes for this weeks topic! God bless your day 💕
