@Shannon Koss and I are looking forward to some good old-fashioned family time today... Easter egg hunt with MJ, and some super chill hangs with Sara and Grey. Nothing fancy... just the kind of day to enjoy and remember. What’s your Sunday looking like? Saturday Thoughts about DOPamine 🧠
This crossed my mind today 👇 DOPamine: The One You’re Feeding Is The One That's Winning But first... my request of Tim Cook Dear Apple... Please bring back the iPod. Not for nostalgia sake, but so our kids and grandkids can experience music without the dopamine traps, browsers, and infinite scroll attached. I mean, it's not like we are being ridiculous and suggesting records and eight tracks or anything. Signed, Concerned Parent & Grandparent ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Because here’s the truth: Dopamine isn’t the problem It’s the source. I saw this play out recently while integrating an AI Business Coaching Dojo into my own workflow at Point 8 Business Solutions. What was supposed to be an hour turned into four. Locked in, building, refining, thinking. That’s when it clicked... Dopamine can build your life OR quietly dismantle it. 👉 Dopamine DRAINS: 🚫 Mindless scrolling 🚫 Junk inputs (food, content, noise) 🚫 Binge cycles that blur time 🚫 Constant distraction disguised as “relaxation” 👉 Dopamine DRIVERS: ✅ Building something that matters ✅ Executing on goals that stretch you ✅ Creating, writing, solving ✅ Strengthening real relationships ✅ Training your body, sharpening your mind ✅ Getting outside, being present, actually living Same brain. Same chemical. 💥Completely different outcome. Most people aren’t lacking discipline, they’re overexposed to the wrong dopamine. Track it for a week. Shift the inputs. Watch what happens. And yeah... as Socrates says: All things in moderation... including moderation But if we’re being honest about it: Most people need more intention rather than moderation.

Nicknames!!
Our 4 y.o. Grandson, MJ is our darling!! About a year or so ago he gave @Shannon Koss and me the best combined nickname. You got your: Bennifer Brangelina Kimye and... TomKat But ours is better. To MJ, I'm Pop and Shannon is Nanna. So of course together that becomes... BannanaPop it stuck and we love it. Who else has a great nickname??

Are You A SMOVER?
A SMOVER is someone who SMILES & MOVES. Simple... but not easy. And definitely not common. I remember the first time I was introduced to Sam Parker and the Smover Movement. I was hooked immediately and started sharing the idea team by team, throughout my company. And then company to company. As far and wide as I could. The idea is complete without being complex. It’s one of those ideas that, once you see it, you can’t unsee it. And you start noticing everywhere people are... or aren’t... showing up this way. Sam shares a story about his daughters running a lemonade stand during a city-wide event raising money for cancer research. On the surface, everything looked great—they were there, participating, doing the “right” thing. But when he watched how they interacted with customers, something was missing. Low energy. Minimal engagement. Just going through the motions. So he stepped in to coach them... and got the classic pre-teen eye roll. Because in their minds, they were already doing enough. They were there to get their required community service hours for school. (And yes... maybe to raise money for a good cause.) But here’s where the lesson hits... Those customers didn’t have to stop. They weren’t obligated to buy lemonade. There were stands all over the city. They chose that stand. Which means... The girls weren't doing the customers a favor by selling lemonade. The customers were doing them a favor by choosing them. That’s the shift, isn't it? Whether you’re an entrepreneur... part of a team... leading a business... or simply showing up in your relationships... 👉 The opportunity to serve is never an obligation. 👉 It’s always an invitation. 👉 And it’s a gift. So the question becomes: How are you showing up when the opportunity arrives? How To SMILE: ⏰Wake Up ~ Be attentive and engaged 🎁Be Thankful ~ The opportunity to serve is a gift 🤗Be Approachable ~ It attracts and invites opportunity 🚫Complain Less ~ Being positive is more fun 😀Smile, REALLY

Start Here!
"Be A Better Part of Someone's Day ~ Work Kindly." Let’s go deep on this thought for a second. When all else fails... When you’re unsure of the next move... When motivation is low, clarity is missing, and progress feels stalled... Start here. Not with a new strategy. Not with another course. Not with overthinking your next big move. Start with how you show up. Be a better part of someone’s day. Because kindness is not soft. It’s disciplined. It requires awareness. Presence. Intention. Anyone can execute when they feel good. Point 8 people execute on who they are being... especially when they don’t feel good. If nothing else today: Send the message Offer the encouragement Acknowledge someone’s effort Bring energy into a room instead of taking it This is how culture is created. This is how standards are built. This is how YOU become someone people are drawn to. And put some focus on this next part... When you raise the experience for others, you elevate your own. So if you don’t know what to do next, do this. Be better. Work kindly. Move forward. Who’s one person you’re going to impact today? 👇
