Important Video + Coming Soon?
For 20 years Mike and I have helped over 5,000 agencies get clients ranked at the top of search and more importantly, maps. But something is happening. Clients are ranking #1… …and the phone is not ringing like it used to. Why? Because we have quietly moved from a search economy to a recommendation economy. I explain what that means in this short video. Watch It Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1flc1vazzqY&t=9s Now for the fun part. Over the next several days we are going to show you something we have been building behind the scenes. It is designed to solve one of the biggest problems agencies are facing right now. How do you prove your value and help your clients win in a recommendation economy where rankings alone are not enough? More coming this week. Brian and Mike Maps Liftoff | Local AI Visibility Systems P.S. If this sounds interesting, comment below "behind the scenes." If we get enough replies we may even do a case study about how we just closed a $49K client using this.

Behind the scenes
AI vs IA — Why You're Fighting the Wrong Battle
Let me ask you something uncomfortable. When you sit down to produce content for a client, who are you in that moment? Are you a strategic marketing partner building something that matters? Or are you a person trying to get a number below 35%? Because those are two very different people. And only one of them is going to build a business worth having. I've been watching this AI detection obsession spread through the industry and I need to call it what it is. It's fear. Dressed up as quality control, but it's fear. Fear that Google is going to "catch" you. Fear that the content isn't "real" enough. Fear that you're doing something wrong by using the most powerful tool that's ever landed in your lap. So you run the output through a detector. It says 78% AI. Your stomach drops. You start tweaking words. Swapping sentences around. Fighting with Claude like you're negotiating with a hostage taker. And thirty minutes later you've got something that scores 34% AI and reads like it was written by a committee that hated each other. Sound familiar? Here's what nobody in this industry wants to say out loud. Google does not have an AI detector running on your content. They don't care if AI was involved. They never said they did. What they care about, what they have ALWAYS cared about, is whether the content is any good. Is it helpful? Is it accurate? Does it serve the human who searched for it? That's the game. Same game it's been since Panda. Since Hummingbird. Since the helpful content update. Quality wins. Garbage loses. The tool you used to create it is irrelevant. So let me give you a different frame. Stop thinking AI — Artificial Intelligence. Something separate from you. Something you need to hide. Start thinking IA — Intelligence Augmentation. Something that amplifies YOU. That shift isn't just semantics. It changes your entire relationship to the work. When you operate as IA, YOU are the expert. YOU are the mind. YOU are the one with 5, 10, 20 years of marketing knowledge, or your client is the one with decades of expertise in their trade. The AI didn't wake up one morning with opinions about roofing or hair restoration or personal injury law. The human did. The AI helps that human get what they know onto the page in a way that serves their customer.

WOW!! What a great a great piece of content. I have heard all the noise as well and it is a lot sometimes and funny at the same time. I have already been doing what you have highlighted. I love using AI! I use it in some many different ways and I work with it for hours at a time programming it to a specific brand and voice and have it write all my content. I review each piece and ask myself would I be proud of this and change the copy on what I am reviewing and my vision for my writing . It is a lot fun and the systemization of your process just speeds everything up. I always tell people the more input you give it the better results you get. It is AMAZING!!
Most content is optimized on 3 layers. We use 15. Here's what that means.
Most marketing tools — even the "AI-powered" ones — optimize your content on 3, maybe 4 dimensions. Keywords. Readability. Maybe some meta tags. Then they call it "optimized." That's like tuning the radio in a car with no engine. Inside the You-Everywhere system, every single piece of content passes through 15 distinct optimization layers before it goes live. Not sequentially. Not "pick 3." All 15. Simultaneously. Here's what they are — and what each one actually does for you: 🔍 THE DISCOVERY LAYERS — Getting Found Layer 1: SEO Optimization The foundation. Keywords, structure, meta architecture. If you're not here, nothing else matters. But if you STOP here... you're playing yesterday's game. Layer 2: Local Optimization Geographic signals that tell search engines WHERE you operate. Not just city names in your footer — real geo-authority woven into the content itself. Layer 3: Knowledge Graph Optimization This is how Google — and every AI system — knows you're a REAL entity and not just another website. Your business, your people, your services mapped as entities with defined relationships, attributes, and identity signals. When a Knowledge Graph recognizes you, you stop being "a page about plumbing" and become "the plumbing authority in Austin." That distinction changes everything downstream. Layer 4: Semantic Optimization Topic depth AND machine-readability. This layer does two things: it builds the semantic density that proves you actually understand your subject (co-occurring concepts, topic completeness, entity relationships) — AND it structures your content so AI systems can parse it without guessing. Schema markup, structured data, entity disambiguation. If a machine can't tell whether "Mercury" means the planet, the car, or the element... your content gets skipped. This is the backbone that makes Layers 6 and 8 even possible. Layer 5: AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) Siri. Alexa. Google Assistant. AI search. Your content is either formatted to be EXTRACTED as a direct answer... or it's invisible to the fastest-growing search channel on the planet.

I love this man! What a great read and the only thing I would disagree with is selling with Scarcity. While it may work, I don't want to start any client relationship with this mentality. I would rather start off on the right foot and elicit positive emotions within the client, then be very direct about what I want and address any concerns a client might have. It is all about persuasion. Love this topic <3 I would love a premium program around what you highlighted.
Rank and rent
I have an off the wall question.... Does anyone in this group do rank & rent SEO?

AI Optimization
How is everyone doing? I got a email from Brian talking about the Optimancer AI Optimization plug-in. Has anyone tried this tool? I am looking to probably try this plug-in for my business. It looks like something that would be beneficial for my clients for optimizing for AI. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
