Stronger Mind = Stronger Results
Lately Iโ€™ve been thinking a lot about how performance isnโ€™t just physical. I love working on strength, fitness and pushing limits in the gym, but mindset is just as important. I used to be someone who was shy and lacked confidence when I was younger. So over the years, Iโ€™ve done a lot of work on that side of myself. And after a breakup last year, it pushed me even deeper into that journey. One thing Iโ€™ve realised The work never stops. Just like trainingโ€ฆ you donโ€™t โ€œfinishโ€ building strength. You donโ€™t โ€œcompleteโ€ your fitness. Mindset is the same. Thereโ€™s always another level. Always more to learn about yourself. To grow. To improve. To get closer to the person you want to become. One thing thatโ€™s helped me massively with this is reading. A book I always recommend is Atomic Habits by James Clear, if you havenโ€™t read it yet, itโ€™s a must. But if you have read it, Iโ€™ve just started another one: Shut Up and Move On by Paul McGee Iโ€™m only halfway through, but honestlyโ€ฆ Iโ€™m loving it. It ties in perfectly with fitness, performance and lifestyle goals, especially if youโ€™re working on discipline, resilience, and moving forward instead of overthinking. If youโ€™re serious about improving yourself (not just physically, but mentally too), Iโ€™d highly recommend adding it to your list. Rememberโ€ฆ..growth isnโ€™t a phase. Itโ€™s a lifestyle.

Love this. Funnily enough I have given myself a kick up the arse yesterday. When not working or training have been feeling stuck in a rut recently. And not been taking action on the self growth I have wanted to. So I have made the choice yesterday. So I think its both, just depends what stage of your journey you are on
Running Shoes Wear and Tear
Probably not the most exciting post you'll ever read, but having seen where @James Pace has holes in his trainers, I was curious to know where you other runners experience wear and tear first. For me it's not the soles, nor the toes but what I guess you'd call the ankle supports. A gait issue maybe ๐Ÿค”

Could also be tightness in the body mate. All muscles pull remember, so if they get tight they pull to a certain direction. This can even be when tight under the foot, in the calfs, in the hips. Sometimes its not even painful I would start with regular stretching mobility (think we may have spoke about this ๐Ÿ˜‰) Even 5-10 mins daily while watching TV is good
I would kick 30 year old meโ€™s arse. ๐Ÿ’ฅ
Not because Iโ€™m heavier. Not because Iโ€™m leaner. Because Iโ€™m more capable. ๐Ÿ’ช At 30 I trained to look good Now I train to perform Back then I chased aesthetics Now I chase output โšก The 30 year old me wanted to look the part The man I am now wants to achieve and execute Longevity isnโ€™t accidental Itโ€™s built through progression ๐Ÿ“ˆ Strength that lasts....strength that impresses But hereโ€™s what matters most When I first started training properly, I had no idea where it would lead I couldnโ€™t have imagined running a 100km ultra That wasnโ€™t the goal The goal was just to get better One session One week One training block at a time Most people never discover what theyโ€™re capable of because they never stay consistent long enough to find out And this is where it applies to you Get clear on your reason why Not the surface one. The real one Then focus on the basics Tick the boxes Train properly Recover properly Fuel properly When you struggle, ask for support Thatโ€™s not weakness. Thatโ€™s commitment Because this isnโ€™t about today Itโ€™s not even about this year Itโ€™s about the version of you 10 years from now Build that person now Progress deliberately And you might end up achieving things you canโ€™t even imagine yet. ๐Ÿ”ฅ
