Review and SOTD - Erolfa by Creed
I’m working through some more samples, and since it’s warm out I decided to finish off my sample of Erolfa today. Released in 1992, Erolfa is a fresh, aromatic marine/aquatic, inspired by the Creed family's Mediterranean sailing trips. It captures salty sea air, citrus breezes, and herbal freshness in a crisp, uplifting way. The fragrance opens with a citrus burst, consisting of melon, bergamot, lemon, and lime, along with green notes and a salty ozonic/marine profile. In the heart there are light herbal and spicy touches of ginger, pine, coriander, pepper, and jasmine. The base brings a clean woody musky dry down, with ambergris giving it a sea spray feel. There’s also sandalwood, cedar, oakmoss, and musk. It leans sophisticated and clean skin smelling rather than overly sweet or synthetic. Longevity is moderate, typically 5–7 hours on skin, with soft to moderate projection. I recommend spraying on clothes for better wear. It’s best for spring/summer, daytime, casual or business settings. Overall, it's a refined aquatic with a salty green marine vibe. It’s clean, refreshing, versatile, and inoffensive. Good for daily wear/office use. It's a hidden gem, less hyped than Millisime Imperial but high quality, sophisticated and unique. If you enjoy fresh, salty citrus aquatics with some light herbal depth, Erolfa is an elegant, underrated choice for warm weather. Sample first, as aquatics and performance are personal. I recommend Creed’s Erolfa.

Great review! I have yet to try this one but need to.
SOTD: Amouage - Line 618
I recently got my hands on samples of the three new Amouage Essences (Line 618, Sequence, and Remain), but it was Line 618 that immediately jumped out as my type of scent, especially as we go into warmer AZ weather. I wore it once to test and knew I had to have a bottle. Not available on discounters yet, but thankfully I was able to find a catch & release from someone to save a little coin. So how does it smell? It opens with a really nice mix of fruity brightness (pineapple/peach/plum) layered over soft incense before settling into a creamy, slightly milky heart with coconut and woods. It then dries down into smooth sandalwood, light leather, and a gentle smoky warmth. While it does have that signature Amouage depth, it’s in a much more wearable, easy-reach style that is going to work surprisingly well in the heat. Performance wise it sits in a really nice spot, about 6–8 hours for me, with a solid push early before it settles into a smooth, personal scent bubble. Not loud, but definitely noticeable. Honestly though, it’s the way it wafts that gets me… I keep catching it throughout the wear and can’t stop smelling myself. I can see where traditional Amouage fans might say it strays a bit from the house’s heavier DNA, but it still feels unique and well-crafted, and I’m all in on it. I love this. Within this release of the Essences collection from Amouage, each scent represents a point in time. Remain as a dot (past), Sequence as a circle (cycle/continuity), and Line 618 as the line (present, movement, progression). That “in motion” concept for Line 618 really comes through here with how it balances freshness and depth. These were Dubai airport exclusives before recently launching in the US which is why they haven’t hit discounters yet. Please, if this scent profile interests you, find a place to sample it. You can 100% smell its depth and complexity, but to me comes across so smooth and can be worn around folks not as into fragrance as we are and still be appealing. I wouldn’t say blind buy worthy at this price point, but if that’s your thing I support it.

@Justin Tillery Have you tried outlands yet? I know how much you like hugo boss bottled absolu. It’s in that same wheelhouse, but with amouage quality and nuclear performance.

@Justin Tillery I think you would really like Outlands. Reflection might be right up your alley too in that Florida summer heat. Classy fresh.
Sotd-Prada L'Homme Intense
A rich iris with earthy and sweet amber opening, this scent has not many variations but in base sweet tonka is creating nice scent bubble aroud full day. Performance is beast mode.

My favorite version as well. Love it!
New Scent Score
Just received about a dozen new scents from Micro Perfumes. All are blind buys on my wish list. This is the first time I’ve disciplined myself to buy the sample rather than the whole bottle. First review tomorrow is Virgin Island Water by Creed. Here’s to smelling good 👍

Excellent haul! As you can see, I do the same thing with decants, and it’s gotten a little out of hand. 😂
