Our 4 y.o. Grandson, MJ is our darling!! About a year or so ago he gave @Shannon Koss and me the best combined nickname. You got your: Bennifer Brangelina Kimye and... TomKat But ours is better. To MJ, I'm Pop and Shannon is Nanna. So of course together that becomes... BannanaPop it stuck and we love it. Who else has a great nickname??

That's awesome. When we had a Bennigan's here in San Diego, I ended up becoming a regular there. At the time I was living in North County of San Diego and was going to SDSU. The semester I couldn't get night classes for what I needed my classes ended at peak traffic hours. I'd rather find something else to do than sit in rush hour traffic. So one of the days early in the semester, I stopped there and was made to feel so welcome, it just became where I'd go to wait out the traffic. Got to know the bartenders really well and was even invited to one of their weddings. One of the bartenders dubbed me, "Ryno!!" Honestly I hated it at first but they were awesome people so they were the only ones I let call me that. It's hard to say no to being called that when they'd light up like a Christmas tree when I walked in the door. So I continued going long after graduation until sadly it closed. I even had a plaque above the bar. I probably was the one awarded one with the least amount of alcohol purchased as I'm not a big drinker, but I will always remember those days with great affection. Still in touch with several of the folks who worked there despite it having closed a long time ago.

@Brennan Thompson it certainly does. I was not looking for a "Cheers" experience but I found one and I'm really glad it happened. The Bennigan's here became a Broken Yoke Cafe and I checked them out shortly after they opened. It was an interesting experience stepping in there and seeing the wall layout the same but the dining room so completely different. Sadly the food and the service was awful. I did give them another chance but it wasn't any better then. I haven't been back. I kind of feel like the Broken Yolk Cafe is the Spirit Halloween of the San Diego restaurant scene since all their locations are in the shells of other restaurants that still kind of look like their former tenants.

Enough is enough. This is a serious place for serious people who want to learn serious things. We will not allow your shenanigans, your tomfoolery, or your reckless displays of “fun” within our sacred digital halls. To anyone who thinks it's funny, cute, or in any way acceptable to participate in these so-called April Fools’ Day jokes and pranks... Be advised: 🚫 Immediate removal 🚫 Lifetime banishment 🚫 Your name whispered in cautionary tales for generations to come We have worked far too hard to build a community rooted in focus, discipline, and... absolutely zero smiling. There will be no jokes. No pranks. No laughter. Only seriousness. Only structure. Only... ... 😂😂😂 Alright, that’s enough of that. HAPPY APRIL FOOLS’ DAY, HuRU Crew. Today, we flip the script. We WANT your creativity. We WANT your humor. We WANT your best (and worst) attempts to make us laugh, think, or do a double take. Drop your best: 🎭 Pranks 🧠 “Wait… is this real?” posts 🤣 Stories 🔥 Clever twists Let’s see who really shows up at their funniest 👇 Go all in. Make it good. Make it memorable. WARNING: Failure to participate might just earn you that removal from the group 😂🤣😂 (but I doubt it)

Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn
Being mentored by John Maxwell is one of the best decisions I ever made - I still feel that way 10 years later! I was on a call today in @Brandon Decremer's group, Evergreen Foundations and today's speaker, Jacob, talked about some of the same ideas that I hold near and dear to my own personal growth and development. Let’s get real for a second... Most people say they want more. More impact. More income. More freedom. But very few are willing to look at this honestly 👇 Question 1: What would you do if you knew you could not fail? Go ahead... let your mind open up. No fear. No hesitation. No limits. Now here’s where it gets different. Question 2: Where are you willing to lose... because not going after it isn’t an option? 👊 That one hits different. Because now: 🔹Risk is real 🔸Failure is possible 🔹The safety net is gone And what’s left? 💥 Truth. Not what sounds good. Not what looks good. Not what you wish you wanted... But what you’re actually willing to fight for. ⚡ Here's a Point 8 Mindset Reality: 👉 The first question reveals your dreams 👉 The second reveals your standards And your life will always align with the second. 🔥 Quick Pulse Check (Poll) Which one hit you harder? A) The “no failure” question B) The “willing to lose” question C) Both equally D) Honestly... I’m still thinking about it Drop your answer below 👇And if you’re bold enough... Tell us: What are you willing to LOSE for right now? Let’s see who’s really dialed in 👀

The Point 8 Mindset Series: A Soundtrack of Reinvention 🎧🔥
There are seasons in life when something inside you starts to stir... You begin to question the “run-of-the-mill.” You feel the tension between who you’ve been... and who you’re becoming. You sense there’s another level — but the path isn’t always obvious. For me, one band has been a constant companion through every chapter of growth, challenge, reinvention, and momentum. And that band is RUSH. So I’m doing something a little different. Over the next several posts, I’m breaking down powerful themes inspired by some of their most thought-provoking songs — and connecting them directly to what it means to operate at a Point 8 level. This isn’t about music nostalgia. It’s about these distinct 7 stages: ✅ Waking up from autopilot ✅ Taking full ownership ✅ Navigating the internal noise ✅ Building emotional strength ✅ Finding your rhythm ✅ Staying steady under pressure ✅ And stacking the small wins that change everything First, a little bit of context. As I travelled my personal journey to achieving a Point 8 Mindset, I discovered a distinct 6-Part ARC... a map, really. That map is: Awareness ➡️ Disruption ➡️ Adaptation ➡️ Alignment ➡️ Momentum ➡️ Victory As pointed as this ARC is, the truth remains that a map can show the journey but it is the moments, the lens and the emotional state along that journey that tells the story and that's where the music comes in. Each of the 7 Stages above has a theme that ties in nicely to a composition. Think of it like this: A structured ARC expressed through lived experiences Because becoming Point 8 isn’t an event. It’s a process. A standard. A way of thinking and operating. If you’ve ever felt the pull to level up... pivot... or step more boldly into who you’re meant to become, then this series is for you. 👉 Follow along 👉 Reflect as you read 👉 Share your thoughts 👉 And step into your next level Tomorrow I will start with the First Stage: Waking Up From Autopilot Until then, I'm curious: Who here even knows and/or likes RUSH? 👇 Drop it in the comments

Go Canada!!! I wouldn't say I'm a Rush fan, but I know of them and often will enjoy them if they are on. But I totally know, love, and appreciate the exercise of using a favorite band and their music to make a point. Favorite music can feel like a religious experience especially in concert. I'm looking forward to these posts.
Who’s Dream Is It Anyway⁉️
“Whatever you think, be sure it is what you think; whatever you want, be sure that it is what you want; whatever you feel, be sure that it is what you feel.” ~ T.S. Eliot The first question we tackle in the Put Your Dream to the Test mastermind, is this: 💥The Ownership Question: Is my dream really my dream? And pay attention to the nuance: 👉 Is my dream really MY dream? This challenges ownership. Did this come from you... or was it handed to you by parents, society, expectations, or your environment? 👉 Is my dream REALLY my dream? This challenges authenticity. Even if it started as yours... have you fully claimed it? Or are you still waiting for permission, validation, or the “right time”? Same words. Completely different lenses. Both matter. Because the truth is: 🔹You have to be willing to bet on yourself. Nobody else’s belief can replace your own. 🔸You must lead your life, not just accept it. Your choices are your power—use them. 🔹When you love what you do and do what you love, everything changes. Because passion isn’t a bonus, it’s a compass. 🔸The moment you stop comparing your path to others, you reclaim your power. Your race. Your pace. 🔹And sometimes, you have to believe in your vision alone before anyone else sees it. Let’s get real for a second… If success looks good on the outside but feels empty on the inside, then it’s not success. Understanding that most of those "limits" we feel were created, not discovered. (read that again). Your potential is still LARGELY untapped (and that is true no matter how long you've been at this or how accomplished you are). So here’s the shift: When you take ownership of your dream... you commit to your dream. No more “maybe.” No more “someday.” No more living someone else’s version of a life that doesn’t fit. So let me ask you— What’s your level of commitment? On a scale of 1–10: 1 = “It would be nice to have” 10 = “I lose sleep because I want it so bad” Drop your number below 👇 and if you’re bold enough, tell us why.

My response to people that use "Living the dream" as an answer to "How's it going?" is "But is it your dream?". Usually they aren't prepared for that question and have to think about it for a second.

@April Cookson I like it because people tend to give that response on "auto pilot" and the question brings them back down to be present for a moment or two.
