Router ban
Earlier we talked about the TP-Link routers getting banned. It seems they broadened the scope and banned everything that isn’t made in the U.S. https://mashable.com/article/us-fcc-foreign-router-ban

@David Greenlees they will work fine. If you want a desktop environment on them use Fedora or Linux Mint. For a server platform, if you want to run kubernetes, Talos is your go to, if docker, then Ubuntu Server is a good go to.

@Brandon Lee that’s how I did my Ollama install. I passed through an Nvidia T1000 in my case. It works well enough. My stable diffusion platform is using an Nvidia 2080Ti.

@Ken Pryor you don’t need to have the latest 5000 series card from Nvidia. I use a 2080 Ti that has 11GB of memory. Yea, 11. I thought that was weird too.
What tools do you use to find failing drives in the home lab?
A reminder too that if you buy second hand drives, you need to check them to make sure they are as advertised. Your Drives Might Be Failing. Check These Free Tools #storage #homelab https://www.virtualizationhowto.com/2026/03/your-drives-might-be-failing-check-these-free-tools/
